Online personal training rosters tend to grow along a predictable curve. A coach starts with a handful of clients they picked up through word of mouth or a social following, builds to 15 or so once the delivery model is repeatable, then pushes toward 30 and 50 as check-ins, templates, and habit packs take over the heavy lifting. The cost of online personal training software moves with that curve, but it moves very differently depending on which platform a coach is on.
Some platforms charge a flat rate for unlimited clients. Others scale the per-month price as the roster grows, either through a stepped slider or by pushing the coach up a tier ladder. Add-ons stack on top of the base price, and the add-on stack an online personal trainer actually needs (a branded client app, nutrition, payments, video) can quietly double the headline number. This page lays out what each of the six major platforms costs an online PT at 5, 15, 30 and 50 clients, using the verified pricing in our canonical competitor pricing table, with the add-on stack shown separately rather than blended into one figure.
The short version
Trainerize's Pro slider climbs from $25 a month at 5 clients to $135 a month at 50, before any add-ons. QuickCoach Pro stays flat at $39 a month, or $32.50 a month effective on the $390 annual plan, for unlimited clients, with branded app, nutrition and habit tracking already inside that price. The free tier covers up to 20 clients with no time limit.
At 5 clients
Five clients is the first working roster for most online PTs. Several platforms still have a free or near-free tier that covers it, but the free tiers differ sharply in what they include. Trainerize's free plan is a single-client trial, not a working tier. Everfit's Starter covers 5 clients free with basic programming. QuickCoach's free tier covers 20 clients with the full programme builder and client app.
| Platform | Plan at this roster | Monthly cost | Annual (per-month effective) | Add-ons an online PT needs | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trainerize | Pro 5 (5-client cap) | $25 | $23 | Custom Branded App $169 one-time plus $99/year Apple Developer fee; Advanced Nutrition $20/mo; Business bundle (Stripe payments, video coaching, automation, referrals) $25/mo | Entry point of the Pro slider. 30-day free trial, no card. Basic free tier is 1 client only, so a working 5-client roster needs Pro 5. |
| TrueCoach | Starter (5-client cap) | $29.98 | $26.34 | None sold separately. No custom theming at Starter. Payments via TrueCoach Payments on standard Stripe fees. | 14-day trial, no card. Theming arrives at Standard. No free tier. |
| Everfit | Starter Free (5-client cap), or Pro 5 for branding | $0, or $19 on Pro 5 | None, or $16 on Pro 5 | On Pro: Payments & Packages $9/mo, Autoflow from $29/mo, On-Demand Collections $25/mo, Meal Plans & Recipe Books $39/mo. Custom branding (logo and colours) is included at Pro. | Starter Free has custom exercise library, workout builder, metrics, tasks, inbox. No advanced programming, nutrition, automation or branding. |
| My PT Hub | Premium (Starter caps at 3 clients) | $105 | $90 | Custom-Branded App $145 one-time; Full White-Label App $225/mo; Check-Ins AI $18/mo; Zapier $30/mo; Additional Trainers $15/mo each. Payments processing included. | Starter at $40/mo only covers 3 clients, so a 5-client roster forces Premium. 30-day trial, no card. |
| PT Distinction | Pro (Basic caps at 3 clients) | $59.90 | No annual rate listed | Custom-branded iOS and Android apps included at Pro. Extra clients $2.40/mo each above the 25 included. | Basic at $19.90/mo covers 3 clients with no branded apps, so 5 clients needs Pro. 1-month free trial. |
| QuickCoach | Free (up to 20 clients) | $0 | $0 | None required for delivery. Pro optional at $39/mo ($32.50/mo effective on annual) for branded client app, nutrition, habit tracking, push notifications. | Full programme and workout builder, unlimited programmes and tasks, client mobile and web apps. No forced upgrade, no time limit. |
At 15 clients
Fifteen clients is where most platforms leave the free or entry tiers behind. Trainerize moves up to Pro 15. TrueCoach moves to Standard, which is where custom theming arrives. Everfit needs Pro 20 to cover the headcount. QuickCoach is still on the free tier, with five clients of headroom before the 20-client cap.
| Platform | Plan at this roster | Monthly cost | Annual (per-month effective) | Add-ons an online PT needs | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trainerize | Pro 15 (15-client cap) | $50 | $45 | Custom Branded App $169 one-time plus $99/year Apple fee; Advanced Nutrition $20/mo (Pro 5, 15) or $45/mo (Pro 30 and up); Business bundle $25/mo | Same Pro feature set as Pro 5, higher cap. |
| TrueCoach | Standard (20-client cap) | $69.98 | $57.99 | Custom-branded app theming included. Apple Watch, Garmin, WHOOP integrations included. Zapier automations included. | Most popular TrueCoach tier. 14-day trial. Annual plans carry a 90-day money-back guarantee. |
| Everfit | Pro 20 (20-client cap) | ~$49 | ~$41 | Payments & Packages $9/mo; Autoflow from $29/mo; On-Demand Collections $25/mo; Meal Plans & Recipe Books $39/mo. Branding included. | Pro 10 caps at 10 clients, so 15 needs Pro 20. Verify exact slider value when quoting. |
| My PT Hub | Premium (unlimited clients) | $105 | $90 | Custom-Branded App $145 one-time; Full White-Label App $225/mo; Check-Ins AI $18/mo; Zapier $30/mo | Same tier as at 5 clients. Premium is the flat unlimited tier. |
| PT Distinction | Pro (25-client cap) | $59.90 | No annual rate listed | Custom-branded iOS and Android included. Extra clients $2.40/mo each above 25. | Pro covers 25, so 15 sits inside the cap with room to grow. |
| QuickCoach | Free (up to 20 clients) | $0 | $0 | None required. Pro optional at $39/mo ($32.50/mo effective annual) for branded app, nutrition, habit tracking. | Still inside the free tier at 15 clients. |
At 30 clients
Thirty clients is the point where the slider platforms start to pull away from the flat-price platforms. Trainerize jumps to Pro 30, and its Advanced Nutrition add-on moves from $20 to $45 a month at this tier. TrueCoach jumps from Standard to Pro, which is a sizeable step. PT Distinction's Pro tier caps at 25, so a 30-client roster either adds extra clients at $2.40 each or moves up to Master. QuickCoach moves from free to Pro, a single $39 step that covers unlimited clients from that point on.
| Platform | Plan at this roster | Monthly cost | Annual (per-month effective) | Add-ons an online PT needs | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trainerize | Pro 30 (30-client cap) | $79 | $71 | Custom Branded App $169 one-time plus $99/year Apple fee; Advanced Nutrition $45/mo (rate steps up at Pro 30); Business bundle $25/mo | Pro 15 caps at 15, so 30 forces Pro 30. Nutrition add-on price doubles at this tier. |
| TrueCoach | Pro (50-client cap) | $164.98 | $136.99 | Custom-branded theming included. Same feature set as Standard, higher cap. | Standard caps at 20, so 30 forces Pro. Largest single-tier jump in this comparison. |
| Everfit | Pro 35 (35-client cap) | $75 | $63 | Payments & Packages $9/mo; Autoflow from $29/mo; On-Demand Collections $25/mo; Meal Plans & Recipe Books $39/mo | Pro 20 caps at 20, so 30 needs Pro 35. |
| My PT Hub | Premium (unlimited clients) | $105 | $90 | Custom-Branded App $145 one-time; Full White-Label App $225/mo; Check-Ins AI $18/mo; Zapier $30/mo | Flat unlimited tier, unchanged from 5 clients. |
| PT Distinction | Pro plus 5 extra clients, or Master (50-client cap) | $71.90 (Pro plus 5 extra at $2.40 each), or $89.90 on Master | No annual rate listed | Branded apps included on both. Master drops extra-client cost to $1.60/mo each. | Pro includes 25 clients. Five extra at $2.40 each = $12/mo, total $71.90. Master covers 50 outright at $89.90. |
| QuickCoach | Pro (unlimited clients) | $39 | $32.50 | Branded client app, multi-habit tracking, nutrition (food search, food photo scanning, calories, macros, client food log), push notifications, workout sharing, full history all included. Optional: Coach Workflows $14.99/mo, Nutrition Booster Pack $12.99/mo (barcode scanning only; standard nutrition is core Pro, not this add-on). | Free tier caps at 20, so 30 forces Pro. One flat step, no slider, no per-client scaling beyond. |
At 50 clients
Fifty clients is a full book for most online PTs. Trainerize reaches Pro 50 on the slider. TrueCoach's Pro tier still covers 50, so no further jump. Everfit's Pro 50 is the matching step. PT Distinction's Master tier is the clean fit at 50. QuickCoach Pro is unchanged from 30 clients, because the price is flat to unlimited. The gap between the slider platforms and QuickCoach is widest here.
| Platform | Plan at this roster | Monthly cost | Annual (per-month effective) | Add-ons an online PT needs | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trainerize | Pro 50 (50-client cap) | $135 | $122 | Custom Branded App $169 one-time plus $99/year Apple fee; Advanced Nutrition $45/mo; Business bundle $25/mo | Top of the common slider range before Pro 75 and above. Slider continues to 200 clients. |
| TrueCoach | Pro (50-client cap) | $164.98 | $136.99 | Custom-branded theming included. No separate add-ons listed. | Same tier as at 30 clients, still inside the 50-client cap. Beyond 50, Custom quote required (up to 250 clients, arranged with sales). |
| Everfit | Pro 50 (50-client cap) | $95 | ~$79 | Payments & Packages $9/mo; Autoflow from $29/mo; On-Demand Collections $25/mo; Meal Plans & Recipe Books $39/mo | Pro slider continues to 300 clients. Studio tiers bundle most add-ons from 50 clients up if a coach wants the all-inclusive path. |
| My PT Hub | Premium (unlimited clients) | $105 | $90 | Custom-Branded App $145 one-time; Full White-Label App $225/mo; Check-Ins AI $18/mo; Zapier $30/mo | Premium remains the right tier. Ultimate at $329/mo bundles everything, including full white-label App Store listing. |
| PT Distinction | Master (50-client cap) | $89.90 | No annual rate listed | Custom-branded iOS and Android included. Extra clients $1.60/mo each above 50. | Pro with 25 extra clients would cost $119.90, so Master is the cheaper fit at exactly 50. Master is the top listed tier. |
| QuickCoach | Pro (unlimited clients) | $39 | $32.50 | Branded client app, habit tracking, nutrition, push notifications, workout sharing, full history all included. Optional Coach Workflows $14.99/mo and Nutrition Booster Pack $12.99/mo remain separate from the $39/$390 price. | Same flat price as at 30 clients. Unlimited clients, no slider, no per-client scaling. |
The honest-cost call for an online personal trainer
Three patterns fall out of the tables above, and they are worth naming directly.
The free tier genuinely works for an online PT up to 20 clients on QuickCoach, and up to 5 on Everfit. Trainerize, TrueCoach, My PT Hub and PT Distinction do not have a working free tier at this roster size. Trainerize's free plan is a 1-client trial. TrueCoach has a 14-day trial only. My PT Hub has a 30-day trial. PT Distinction has a 1-month trial. If you are under 20 clients and want to pay nothing, QuickCoach and Everfit are the only two realistic options, and QuickCoach's free tier is the more generous of the two on client count.
Pro is the honest answer for an online PT past 20 clients on QuickCoach, and the price does not move again. Trainerize's Pro slider climbs from $25 at 5 clients to $135 at 50, before any add-ons. QuickCoach Pro stays flat at $39 a month, or $32.50 a month effective on the $390 annual plan, for unlimited clients. The branded client app, multi-habit tracking, nutrition in client plans (food search, food photo scanning, calories, macros), push notifications, workout sharing and full history are inside that price. The Nutrition Booster Pack at $12.99 a month is a separate add-on for barcode scanning only, and standard nutrition is core Pro, not this add-on. The same applies to Coach Workflows at $14.99 a month. Neither is required, and neither is folded into the $39 figure.
The competitor add-on stack is where the headline price stops being the real price. A Trainerize Pro 50 coach who wants a branded app, nutrition and the Business bundle pays $135 plus $45 (Advanced Nutrition) plus $25 (Business) each month, plus $169 once and $99 a year to Apple. That is $205 a month recurring before the one-time fee, not $135. An Everfit Pro 50 coach who wants payments, automation, on-demand content and meal plans adds $9 plus $29 plus $25 plus $39 on top of the $95 base, landing around $197 a month if every add-on is taken at the entry rate. A My PT Hub Premium coach who wants a full white-label App Store listing adds $225 a month to the $105 base, more than tripling the headline. The add-on stack is the cost, and it is the reason this page shows it separately.
How these figures were verified
Every price on this page is transcribed from the competitor pricing table we maintain and re-verify quarterly. It was last verified in July 2026 against each platform's public pricing page. We do not invent, round differently, or pull prices from memory. Where a platform lists a monthly rate and a separate annual rate, both are shown and labelled. Where a platform lists only a monthly rate (PT Distinction), no annual figure is invented. Where a platform scales by client count via a slider (Trainerize, Everfit), the specific breakpoint is cited rather than implying one flat price. Where a tier does not cover a roster breakpoint, the next tier up is named, with the reason.
RRP rates are used throughout, not temporary promos. My PT Hub Premium carries a "70% off first 2 months" promo at times, which can drop the effective rate to roughly $52.50 a month on monthly billing or $27 a month on annual during the promo window only. That promo is time-limited and is not the durable figure, so the $105/$90 RRP is what this page quotes. Trainerize's 30-day trial and 10% annual saving, TrueCoach's 14-day trial and 90-day money-back guarantee on annual plans, and the various one-time setup fees are noted where they apply.
The "last verified" date at the top of the page is the date the pricing was re-checked against each platform's public pricing page. When a competitor announces a change, we re-verify before updating the page rather than guessing. The next scheduled re-verification is October 2026.
If you want the broader decision framework around these numbers, the guide to choosing coaching software in 2026 walks through the factors that matter beyond price, and our free versus paid coaching software breakdown covers when the upgrade maths turns. The deeper single-platform pricing breakdowns sit at Trainerize pricing in 2026 and TrueCoach pricing in 2026. For the questions online personal trainers actually ask about software, capacity and delivery, the online personal training questions page is the closest companion to this one.
If you are still working out how to structure programmes once you have chosen software, the coaching methods reference covers the programme design frameworks most online PTs lean on, and the rep ranges guide is a good place to start inside it.
Pricing verified July 25, 2026 against each platform's public pricing page. Figures are RRP rates and are subject to change. Working out the cost maths for your own roster? Reach out at support@quickcoach.fit, or start free on QuickCoach and move to Pro only when the roster justifies it.
