Ask five coaches what a branded coaching app costs and you will get five different answers, because the category prices branding three different ways. Some platforms fold it into a paid tier. Some charge a one-time setup fee. Some charge a monthly fee for your own store listing. The honest answer to how much a branded coaching app costs depends on the platform, the roster and the hidden costs that pricing pages leave out.
This page is the cost side of the branding decision, written for coaches who have been told a branded app is expensive and want the real numbers. The short version: the range is wide, from nothing on top of a plan to $225 a month for a full white-label listing, and most coaches land far below the top of it.
Quick answer
A branded coaching app costs from $0 to $225 a month depending on the platform and the roster. QuickCoach includes the branded client app in Pro at $39 a month, or $32.50 a month effective on annual billing. Trainerize adds a $169 setup fee, and My PT Hub charges $225 a month for full white-label.
What "branded app" costs across the category
The first thing to know is that the category does not have one price for a branded app. It has three pricing models, and which one you meet depends on the platform.
The first model is the included tier. The branded app is part of a paid plan, with no separate charge. QuickCoach, TrueCoach and PT Distinction all work this way, and the price is the plan price. The second model is the one-time setup fee. The branded app is an add-on with a setup charge, and the plan price is separate. Trainerize and My PT Hub work this way. The third model is the monthly white-label fee, your own App Store listing priced as a subscription, and My PT Hub is the only platform in this group that sells it, at $225 a month.
The distinction between custom-branded and full white-label decides which model you are looking at, and it is covered properly in our guide to branded versus white-label apps. This page is the cost side: what each model actually charges, at the roster sizes coaches carry.
The setup fees and the store fees (the hidden costs)
The prices on the pricing pages are not the whole story, and the hidden costs are where a branded app gets expensive.
Trainerize charges $169 as a one-time setup fee for the Custom Branded App, on top of the plan. It also charges a separate $99 a year Apple Developer fee, paid to Apple rather than to Trainerize. That is the store fee, and it is the cost of the storefront even when the app is not full white-label.
My PT Hub charges $145 as a one-time fee for the Custom-Branded App, a branded icon still listed under My PT Hub. The Full White-Label App is $225 a month, and that price includes the storefront: your own listing in the App Store and Google Play.
QuickCoach has neither. The branded client app is part of Pro, it is a Progressive Web App, and clients install it from the browser with no App Store review. There is no setup fee and no store fee, because there is no store.
The pattern is worth naming. The platforms that charge a setup fee are charging for the work of publishing to a store. The platforms that do not are the ones that skip the store. The store is the hidden cost, and it is the one that turns a cheap branded app into an expensive one.
The monthly cost at 10, 20 and 50 clients
The table below prices the branded app across the six platforms at the roster sizes coaches actually carry. Monthly figures are the monthly billing rate, and the annual figure in brackets is the per-month effective rate on annual billing. The setup and store fees sit on top where they apply.
| Platform | 10 clients | 20 clients | 50 clients |
|---|---|---|---|
| QuickCoach | $39/mo ($32.50/mo annual) | $39/mo ($32.50/mo annual) | $39/mo ($32.50/mo annual) |
| Trainerize | $50/mo ($45/mo annual) + $169 setup + $99/yr | $79/mo ($71/mo annual) + $169 setup + $99/yr | $135/mo ($122/mo annual) + $169 setup + $99/yr |
| TrueCoach | $69.98/mo ($57.99/mo annual) | $69.98/mo ($57.99/mo annual) | $164.98/mo ($136.99/mo annual) |
| Everfit | $29/mo ($24/mo annual) | ~$49/mo ($41/mo annual) | $95/mo (~$79/mo annual) |
| My PT Hub | $105/mo ($90/mo annual) + $145 one-time | $105/mo ($90/mo annual) + $145 one-time | $105/mo ($90/mo annual) + $145 one-time |
| PT Distinction | $59.90/mo | $59.90/mo | $89.90/mo |
Three things stand out. QuickCoach is the only platform where the branded app price does not move as the roster grows, because Pro is a flat $39 a month for unlimited clients. Trainerize and Everfit scale by client count, so the branded app gets more expensive as the roster grows. And the platforms that include branding in the plan, QuickCoach, TrueCoach and PT Distinction, are the ones without a setup fee.
The roster breakpoints matter because the branded app is a client-experience feature, and the cost per client is what a coach actually feels. At 20 clients, QuickCoach Pro works out to about $1.95 a client a month. At 50 clients it is about $0.78 a client. The slider platforms go the other way, and the per-client cost climbs with the roster.
The add-on stacks that change the answer
The monthly cost above is the branded app alone. The add-ons are where the answer changes, and every platform stacks them differently.
QuickCoach keeps the core flat. Pro is $39 a month for the branded app, unlimited clients, habit tracking and nutrition. The add-ons are separate: Coach Workflows at $14.99 a month for automated check-in summaries, and the Nutrition Booster Pack at $12.99 a month for barcode scanning. Neither is required for the branded app.
Trainerize stacks the most. Advanced Nutrition Coaching runs $20 a month on the lower Pro tiers and $45 a month from Pro 30 up. Business is $25 a month, Stripe payments $10 a month, video coaching $10 a month. The branded app is a $169 setup fee on top of all of it.
Everfit charges for automation and content. Autoflow starts at $29 a month, On-Demand Collections at $25 a month, Payments and Packages at $9 a month, Meal Plans and Recipe Books at $39 a month. Custom branding is included in Pro, so the app itself does not add to the stack.
My PT Hub sells the branded app as the add-on. The Custom-Branded App is $145 one-time, and the Full White-Label App is $225 a month. Check-Ins AI is $18 a month, Zapier $30 a month, additional trainers $15 a month each.
The honest read on add-ons: the branded app is the feature that should not need a stack. The platforms that include it in the plan price are the ones where the answer stays simple.
The honest read: what a coach actually needs to spend
The honest answer is that most coaches do not need the expensive option. The full white-label app at $225 a month is a brand decision, not a coaching decision, and it is worth the money only when the app is a product in its own right.
For a coach with a roster of 10 to 50 clients, the branded app is a client-experience feature, and the platforms that include it in a flat plan price are the honest fit. QuickCoach Pro is $39 a month for unlimited clients, with the branded client app included, no setup fee and no store fee. That is the whole answer for most coaches.
The free tier is the honest starting point. QuickCoach's free tier holds 20 clients with no time limit, and it is the right place to test the workflow before the branded app matters. The full free-versus-paid picture, and where the free tier fits in the category, is in our free versus paid coaching software guide.
The wider decision framework, and where the branded app sits in it, is in our how to choose coaching software guide. The setup itself, once you have decided, is in our guide to creating the branded client app, and the full Pro breakdown is on the Pro features and pricing page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free branded app?
No platform gives away a branded app on a free tier. QuickCoach's free tier holds 20 clients with no time limit, but the branded client app is a Pro feature at $39 a month. PT Distinction's Basic tier has no branding at all. The cheapest branded options in the category are Everfit Pro from $19 a month and QuickCoach Pro at $39 a month.
Do I pay per client for a branded app?
QuickCoach Pro is a flat $39 a month for unlimited clients, so the branded app does not scale with the roster. Trainerize, TrueCoach, Everfit and PT Distinction all scale by client count, and the branded app price moves with the tier. My PT Hub Premium is unlimited at $105 a month, with the branded app as a $145 one-time fee.
What about the App Store fee?
The App Store fee only appears where a store is involved. Trainerize charges a separate $99 a year Apple Developer fee on top of its $169 setup fee. My PT Hub's full white-label at $225 a month includes the storefront. QuickCoach is a Progressive Web App, so clients install it from the browser and there is no store fee at all.
